A Warm Scandinavian Loft in the Suburbs
“I BECAME VERY ATTACHED TO MY NEW PIECES"
"I searched for art a while before I got to Karma Kollective – as a designer I always take into account technical matters such as proportions, colors as well as material. On the one hand, the framing of the piece is very important for me (which materials you add to your space and how the work is presented) and on the other hand, there is the more artistic aspect of the work itself. With Karma, I managed to answer all this”
"FINDING YOUR WORK OF ART IS A CHALLENGE"
'CONVERSATION PIECE'
“The second work ‘Exposure’ by artist Nana Oduro has something cool and very different. In this work, our normative way of looking at things is challenged and reversed. Usually, you would imagine that the earth is dark, while the default image of men is white. This time, it’s the opposite -the dark-skinned man against the white soil. To me, this work symbolises the issue of the refugees in Israel (and in general, similar relevant issues discussed in the world) the attitude toward foreigners and the power relations. There is something ironic about this piece, something that is saying “rethink on how you think.” Stern
'To me, art is anything that creates an interesting dialogue – what I call a “conversation piece.” I believe art functions as an inspiring object that lifts up your space. It must be presented above the design and not absorbed in it.' Stern
