Maayan Shahar

Maayan Shahar (b. 1988) is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, installation, drawing, and video. Her practice reimagines the functions of materials and everyday moments, transforming the familiar into new forms of perception. In recent years she has created from a mobile studio while traveling with her partner and son, developing drawings, sculptures, and reliefs that form a personal visual archive. These works combine fluid, meditative mark-making with hand-crafted soldered frames, each conceived as a talisman of time and intention.

Shahar holds BFA and MFA degrees from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, including a semester at the San Francisco Art Institute. Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions at Artport Tel Aviv and Beeri Gallery, and in group shows at the Eretz Israel Museum, Bat Yam Museum of Art, Negev Museum of Art, Larnaca Biennale, Jerusalem Design Week, and Fresh Paint Greenhouse. She has participated in residencies at Artport and the Holon Digital Art Center, and is a recipient of awards and grants from the Yehoshua Rabinowitz Foundation, Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, and Bezalel Academy. Her works are held in private collections.
