Raquel Barrios
Raquel Barrios (b. 1988) lives and works in Guadalajara, Mexico. She graduated from Guanajuato University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Her artwork explores construction through painting, installation, and illustration. She works with fabrics and hand-torn paper, using mixed media materials as layers, making the process evident with random forms evoking imperfection in human creation.
Her work has been shown in several exhibitions in Mexico, including Diego Rivera Museum and Home, and selected at the Biennial of Contemporary Art in Lagos, Nigeria (2019), she received the Young Creators Annual Grant PECDA by The Secretary of Culture in Mexico. She has taught several workshops in Cabañas Museum and Visual Experimentation in ESARQ - Arts and Architecture University.
