Tears

Maayan Shahar (b. 1988) is a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, installation, drawing, and video. She reimagines everyday materials and moments, transforming the familiar into new forms of perception. Working from a mobile studio while traveling with her partner and son, she creates drawings, sculptures, and reliefs that form a personal visual archive—meditative works framed as talismans of time, energy, and intention.

Shahar holds BFA and MFA degrees from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, and studied at the San Francisco Art Institute. She has exhibited widely in Israel and abroad, participated in residencies at Artport and the Holon Digital Art Center, and received grants and awards from the Yehoshua Rabinowitz Foundation, Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, and Bezalel Academy.
